  1. I am very very happy with this product. It is easy to operate, it is comfortble to hold, it takes excellent pictures, plus I think it is a pretty camera. It has a number of options to choose from. I couldn’t be happier.

Still learning, but basic first impression is #1 — this Ruby Red camera is not red at all! More of a pink/fuchsia. Would have sent it back for a different color beings I’m not a fan of pink, but I needed it days after its arrival. #2 — covers for USB cable and card/battery seem low quality, hope they don’t break off! But zoom is great!

  3. This is a very nice camera.

Its small, light and takes good pictures.

    I love it.

It has soo many features in it.

I would say, if you want a camera just take this model.

  4. Very pleased with my new camera (Nikon s630). It is easy to use, the screen is very sharp which is good with no viewfinder. Because of the size I carry it in my front pocket and have taken shots that would have been missed were it larger. An excellent product as usual from Nikon.

I bought this to replace my wifes old sony 1.3 mp digi. camera. as you can imagine, the image quality from that was very out of date. Now i also have to say that I have a Nikon D70 that i have had for years now and maybe thats why i really wasn’t impressed with this S630.

1st impression… very nice little package, compact and buttons are in well placed locations. Startup time is almost instant and the screen size is nice, but should have some kind of screen protector. Zoom is nice but moves very quickly, sometimes hard to frame what you want in a hurry. Now… picture quality, unless your subject is sitting still or moving slow, forget about it.. indoor pictures come out blurred and usually overexposed with flash, outside is a little better but still blurred. the sport mode helps with shutter speed it seems but no flash on that mode, so anything needing the flash come out dark. landscape shots are great as is anything stationary. when we do get a nice shot, it does come out amazing. I have a 1 1/2 yr old so getting him to stay still isn’t easy. The movie mode is ok, not a replacement for a good camcorder but for quick little vids to send over the net, its good.

overall my opinion is that it’s a ok camera…maybe i’m just spoiled by D70
